Description
Pheasants are one of this country’s most beautiful native birds. Their plumage is very dramatic with their elongated tail feathers, and contrasting green head.
Male birds often have to work hard to find a mate, and Pheasants are no different. They do their best to look impressive and show off to female birds, in hope that they will get their attention. Thus why I called this painting, The poser.
I have used metallic paints and mixed blue, green and purple to capture the petroleum effect the striking feathers of the head of the bird. Also the field has gold blades within in which reflects how the sun catches them.
The painting has a satin varnish coating on it to accentuate the colours and protect the picture. It will be supplied without the acrylic glass window on it as displaying it bare allows the metallic paint elements to reflect more, giving more intensity and depth. However, the acrylic glass window is tucked between the painting and the back board so if you want it, it’s available. It has a layer of plastic on both sides which will need to be peeled off before display.
